Happy #IWD2026 members and visitors alike 👭👩‍❤️‍👩Happy #IWD.International Women’s Day is a time to come together and recognise the incredible achievements of women everywhere. This year, we’re shining a spotlight on the inspiring initiatives led by WI members who have generously given their time, care and skills to support other women.ICYMI, we hosted our International Women’s Day webinar on Friday, and you can watch it back and hear these powerful stories:Jane Sorrell and Bramhall WI (Cheshire Federation) shared how one speaker inspired meaningful action to support women in prison including establishing a regular book club.Nicola Awni from GAP WI (Gwent Federation), a proud member of the Not in My Name Community Champions, who shared her passion for the campaign and the impactful work happening in Wales.Jane Squirrell from Werrington WI (Huntingdon & Peterborough Federation), who spoke about setting up a prison crafting session – how it began, what they’ve learned, and the powerful impact crafting has had for both members and female residents.Together, these stories show the strength of women coming together to uplift and empower others.
